Did you ever heard of the Web Bot Project? It is suppose to be a sort of web tool that can do prediction of the future! The web bot project… its a sort of search engine that can predict future events! I wonder how far is this true.

I am doing my project on chatbots and keep searching a lot about everything that can have the name “bot”  and I came across this thing called Web Bot Project. The name has nothing about astrology though but keep reading. This amazing piece of codes is claimed to be able to predict roughtly some future events based on actual and past data gathering by crawling the whole web!

So how does the web bot project works?

You must know how google uses web spiders to crawl the web and data. Well, this web bot project technology uses a system of spiders to crawl the Internet and search for keywords everyday! As the bot detect a searched keyword, it takes a snapshot of the text preceding and follwoing the concerned keyword. This snapshot of text is then sent to a central location server where it is then filtered to define the meaning based on another programed dictionary.

The Web Bots Project is a purported technology described by George Ure of Urban Survival Weekly capable of making future predictions beyond simple trend analysis about events yet to happen by scanning the web using spiders which search for keywords and context.

Claimed predictions made by the system ahead of time include:

• Predictions made toward a military background in the Beltway sniper attacks
• Loose references to the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster
• References were made to Vice President Dick Cheney, involving a gun shot wounding
• A major event was predicted in the time period days around the 9/11  terrorist attacks.
• Louisiana would experience an “electrifying” water experience that will 13 million people away from shore (Hurricane Rita did this to 1.3 million people, however the post-event comments was how “shockingly fast” the water rose in the city.)

The aim of the bot project is actually to merge and understand the “collective unconscious” of the universe and it’s inhabitants. There is also a very important part concerning time concept involved and an unusual concept of a “tipping point” regarding the past, current, and future times. It goes a bit deeper than viewing what those of us on the Internet are saying.

For some facts, the bot was developped around the 1990 for helping in making stock market predictions. However in the 2000, the guys managing this crawler noticed that it does not only predicted marketing trends, it was also crawling other data and predicting some major events of the world!

In july 2001, the bot predicted about a life changing event that would take place within the next 60-90 days at that time. An occurrence of such proportion that it’s effects would be felt worldwide. About 60 days later…. baw! The twin towers at the USA are made to ash of concretes and an event that shocked the whole world!

Well I find this little tool quite interesting as it had predicted roughly about the September 2001 terrorist attacks fo the USA. Infact in some simple words this bot crawl the web, forums etc for information about possible events that can happen in the future and using a sort (i dont know how) algorithm and examine past events and make predictions.

Nothing magic in it. It is just artificial intelligence though but a real promising tool. The way the world in changing I see that bots will rule the world soon lol. What if one day we will even have robots girlfriends

Now the next major event it has predicted if the 2012 apocalypse! What.. Tell me it is kidding! Infact I don’t believe in this 2012 apocalypse prediction. By the way Rishi talked about the 2012 prediction here.
