Pravin Jugnauth Wins The Election in No 8 Moka Quartier Militaire. Your Reactions?

March 2, 2009 / 54 Comments

final-result

So its final! Pravin Jugnauth the leader of the MSM won the election in the No 8 Constituency Moka Quartier Militaire! Well the country showed IT again! What has Mauritian shown? That depend upon your perception.

msm-and-labour-activists

Final results shows that Pravin Jugnauth won with 15908 votes compared to his rival Ashock Jugnauth who got 12756 votes.

Hmm.. well we all know that Pravin’s party the MSM has been supported by the Government Party(Even VOH supported the MSM) and the guys from the government side had even do campaign for Pravin. We also know that Ashock Jugnauth was supported by the Opposition party the MMM and the PSMD.

So now that Pravin has won, there are QUESTIONS in the mind of many Mauritians. The main very interesting question is that is the whole of Mauritius happy with this election result? For example, do you like that Pravin has won?

We also noted yesterday that only about 75% of people in the constituency number has voted. So this leaves out the 25%. Now among the 15908 votes that Pravin got, how many did he got due to his popularity and how many did he got ONLY because the labour party and the other government parties have campaigned for him?! Did the people who voted for him actually voted for him or did they vote for the labour party? Is Pravin really the winner or is he only a winner in terms of NUMBERS? What do you think… what are your answers to these questions?

msm-remix-with-labour

Now here are the major questions that I would like to have your answers. Do you think that the MSM and the Labour Party will be going for an alliance soon? Well if we look at this option, there are many in the Alliance Social who will for sure not like the presence of Pravin Jugnauth! What so you think?

And to end, has Mauritius voted intelligently or has Mauritius voted for COLOURS and RELIGIONS? (Again maybe). What is your opinion? Lets start the hard talk!

@ bruno: He may be right, but that’s what happens when you have a bunch of uneducated voters. The phrase ‘people get the government they deserve’ comes to mind. We could blame politicians and religious associations, but at the end of the day, if a monkey is going to vote, he is going to vote like a monkey, for a monkey. It’s sad that the little minority of people who actually use their brain to vote can’t have any impact on elections…

They vote like monkey. Thats rightly said Yashi. Coz infact even if the politician are corrupted and we know its politics…so the people too must have some logic while voting..

@yusha….not need to go to ICAC. Police forces…counting cleks/supervisors…… are being from public fund. BY ELECTION has made its time and shud b abolished, the 4th or 5th candidate shud be nominated thus avoiding electoral campaigns, querellings…. Coming to subsidies only 1 class of people who R beneficiating these facilities, they r those who do not make any savings. u certainly know them and this is where the Finance Minister is on the wrong way.
