seriously guys swine flu aint that bad its just that it spreads very fast and is mostly just
very dangerous for kids and very old people so why do these fu*kers do such a big foss about it here and wanna kill the poor pigs. i mean who do u think u are to judge about life of some poor creatures who live to die and be eaten by us i know some people here dont eat pork but this still doesnt give them the right to say that they want to kill the poor pigs cause i say if u have nothing better to say than talk crap go geat wasted and dont talk crap anymore

Then you must think again. OMS has confidently said that the virus has shown NO proof of direct contamination from Pig to Human. I am talking of the current version H1Z1 which is transmitted human to human only.

The virus has mutated and this current version which spread from Human to Human which is dangerous. I think if we are so wise to ban pigs then why not BAN HUMANS too coming in Mauritius who might have swine flu?

See the situation from a political point of view and you shall understand. No import mean more sales for local breeders. More sales from local breeders means local breeders who are more specifically found at Roche Bois are pleased with the government decision. Local breeders at Roche Bois are please and hence most people are pleased there and hence in a 3rd view its just another electoral campaign p reminiscence.

I think there are good reasons to back the ban of pigs…one being that, although the mat might not be contaminated, the pig itself may be and importing pigs could put all mauritians at risk…it is a SWINE flu…so surely the virus comes from pigs…it makes sense to ban the pigs!! the government is protecting u ppl…u should be thankful

i am not a fan of the current gov nor am i intereted in politics and in anything that has to do with them but i cannot condemn this decision of theirs

hi there,

As we are all aware of the fast growing danger of swine flu worldwide and I know Government is doing a very tight job to prevent swine flu in Mauritius. But as winter is coming here I truly feel its time to think about health workers too! I work in a hospital more precisely in accident and emergency unit and as a health staff I can tell that we are very much expose to flu. It would be great if the ministry can allow us to wear protective mask while at work. Because if we ourselves are not protected how will we treat our patients? As we say, prevention is better than cure… here we can say prevention is better than no cure…..
