Kavya Shivashankar engraved her name on Wikipedia with the word Laodicean. Kavya today won the National Spelling Bee competition and at 13 years old only she becomes the new spelling champion.
I would like to say a big congratulation to Kavya and here is a little girl who just made her future. Priscus also blogged about it today and you can check it here. Kavya’s parents, Sandy Shivashankar and Mirle Shivashankar must be very proud of their girl as she brings home a whole $40,000 in cash prizes and the magnificent trophy.
You can check the list of ALL WINNERS from 1925 of the competition here starting from Frank Neuhauser to Kavya Shivashankar. Kavya had a quick wikipedia page that was infact redirecting to the competition page and as a sign of gift to her talent I think she must have a good page for her only. So here it is girl and congrats again

Wow…….Incredible achievement kavya…….Many Congratulations to you. I landed on the competition while surfing TV last night and couldn’t switch channels anymore. The media, photographers put a lot of pressure on these young kids but the best person prevails no matter what..

Wow that is great. I’m sure their parent are very proud.
I couldn’t even win the spelling bee for my 7th grade class let alone the entire nation.
