Today 2 journalists working for Radio Plus was arrested by THE police of THE Prime Minister while doing their duty near the now-famous kalimaye of St-Paul! Irfaad Olitte and new comer journalist Deven Anacootee were taken to the Police Station and then let free. They will be tried at the Curepipe court tomorrow.
Why? Because they have been accused of trespassing in the superb secure protected zone of the Hindu temple which somehow is near the house of the Prime Minister.
**Achium** Yea the Prime Minister that we often see on MBC TV attending all sort of Hindu religious ceremonies. Mr the Prime Minister, please provide some helicopters for our journalists to do their work. I know how expensive an helicopter is but since they are not allowed to enter the region to do their work on FOOT, please consider to provide even a cheap helicopter. Even if it is cheaper than an Aston Martin there is no problem.
Oh coming back to you readers and friends, if you have not yet heard about the St Paul Kalimaye SAGA which we are telespectating since last week, then let me do a little recap for you.
I am not fully against the Prime Minister on this decision of his but I am also not fully agreeing to his decision! The temple is on a land which was bought by the relatives of the Prime Minister back then between 1995 to 2000. Sometime later, the VERY small temple on a government land started to grow up. Yea they build a bigger temple and even added loud speakers!
Now the Prime Minister’s point of argument is that the temple is causing noise pollution in the surrounding and even till midnight on some days! Also there are the sacrifice of animals being done at the temple for ceremonies.
Well to some extent I can agree with the PM about the noise and sacrifice stuff with blood all over. Its not really a want to be living around. But then the other side of the case is that why were those people allowed to build such a huge temple itself?! Some people are using the argument that if they cannot do their prayer loudly then even the muslims must be prevented from using the loud speakers and also the church must not ring the huge bell!
Therefore this region has been declared as protected zone since last week and the faith-carriers are not allowed to go to pray inside the temple now. Of course Bhai Harish Bhoodoo is there to add the spice and make things mediatised!! As usual!
However today’s action by the police is just pure BS!! Why arresting two journalists who were just doign their work?! In your opinion do you think this temple should be denied access or what are the solutions that you propose? Do you agree with the PM arguments?

lets just forget about what they do in that temple and just concentrate on what they did there….when the land was bought by the relatives of PM they were nice enough to let the temple remain there but with the condition that they do not build further …so why did they do it without the permission of the land owner? and now they dare fight back when PM opposed them….this is rubbish…
and about boodhoo…he is just taking advantage of the situation…mo croire in ler li prend so retraite…
a propos “prayers” that they do there…I dont believe in prayers that requires sacrifice of other animals…prayer is something that is done for oneself and is not supposed to harm or disturb anyone…
