Facebook Hack Discovered By Two Bloggers

June 23, 2009 / 15 Comments

A simple Facebook hack (or tweak) to be able to see the private information of anyone on Facebook. Seem like I am kidding? Well I am not! Two bloggers from FbHive.com found the security hole that allows anyone to view your private information even if you select to make it “private” and if he is not in your friend list!

facebook

Facebook is not so secure as it pretends to be! And if you think these guys are joking then you are wrong as they were even able to get the information of the famous Kevin Rose (owner of digg.com) without being his friend!

The two bloggers even alerted Facebook since the 7 of June about this loophole but it seem Mark Zuckerberg mens are somehow deaf. I can’t confirm that since I am neither a doctor nor an ear shaman.

As at yesterday the hack was still working from what the two bloggers said on their blog here. Unfortunately for the mass and fortunately for Facebook users, the hack has not yet been revealed to the public. One question I have however is how far is this claim of finding the Facebook hole TRUE?

As at now someone mentioned that the problem is fixed but it is yet to be seen if it is REALLY fixed or simply MIXED. ;-)

The question which comes to mind here is how many of you actually trust Facebook BLINDLY? If you have a look at the local facebook accounts itself, I can easily see enough photos to compile an Amateur Playboy Magazine!

@Avish, that must be it. I however worked on the sites SEO when I changed the domain name and the host. This is one of the reasons why it got a PR3 while being only 21 days old :-D lol . (Ok, I admit, I’m bragging a bit about this… SEO lectures anyone? )

I love the Internet and all its insecurity and I especially love all the people using it oblivious of the power they give the Internet leaders, the information they send out and the simile of selling their souls to these Internet magnates.

Just say: Facebook will be closed or MSN Messenger will no longer be edited or supported and you’ll see all of them running in circles like beheaded poultry! THIS, my dear friends is the power of the Internet and just for this I say: I love you poor human!

Nothing on the net is secure as far as I’m concerned. If you created it then be certain someone else would find a way to infiltrate it, with or without your permission. :)

It was never in my opinion… I mean it is secure but people often make themselves insecure on it by their own action :P
