Anti Sec hacked Imageshack.us Last Night – Latest Details
2009/07/11 - By Kurt Avish - 179 views
Last night, an unknown group till now called Anti Sec Movement hacked the famous photo sharing site Imageshack.us – As you already know Imageshack.us is one of the most popular image sharing site in the world and I know many of you use it to host your photos.
Secret movement Anti Sec penetrated the site last night and as a result since the last few hours all images hosted there are replaced by a single message photo. You can have a look at the images below. Right now many sites are affected by this attack as many large images are hosted there to not affect bandwidth.

The group mentioned however that they did not destroy any of the photos on Imageshack and the situation can be reverted. If you have your websites photos hosted there, do not move them yet.
Update 1:
A research on the net about the Group give a possible warning post (or detection) dating of two days earlier. Below is an extract:

Update 2: The link to the original photo the group uploaded to Imageshack.us : http://img998.imageshack.us/antisec.jpg
Questions arises from this event. Are our file really protected? On another side could the people behind this group be right in their way of thinking. If we analyse some of their words, they do not seem to be totally wrong. Sure hacking a site is bad as its not jst the owner which is affected but also common people like us who use it. However their main aim..is it really bad or could they be right somehow?
Your views are much appreciated. More info to be followed soon.

@priscus, I think they can be proud of it…since they have made everyone start thinking and running around right now lol. But then its not really fair for common people like us who lost the photos hosted.

Ya mashable was the first (from public opinion) to alert this. but in reality a less known blogspot blog was the first to announce the security risk two days ago.
