So you ever thought why Slipknot member wear masks? No not to show their mask of to your eyes! Neither to make you have nightmares at night (as if you still do it when watching weird masks)! Slipknot wear these masks because they do not want The People to look at the body and whatever the hell people like to look in a human. They want you to forget their real face or body to concentrate on the music. The masks…because it also help them switch to their stage personality.

    Man!
slipknot is just so fu*king cool!
Been really interested to know more abt the mask worn by
    mike!!
like a lot his crazy picking style and yeah, his mask is very much compatible
    with the IBANEZ!!!
i do really believe in this ‘personality switching’ thing! bcauz
maybe without these masks slipknot would not have been abl to
carry out such sensation they created among all youngsters around the world,
No i’m not saying that they got fame just bcauz of these masks(they r fu*king talented!), but by wearing a mask you’ll b able to push all your fu*king limit,
u’ll not remain a simple guitarist on stage, but a real lead picking monster!!!!!!!

@priscus, The mask did make the difference in their show-type. However they got real talent too. The masks are just the boost. Their talent rocks.

what really made the contrast between them and other bands,
    was the way they played!
    this is real BRUTAL metal!!!!!!!!!!
no other bands, at that time was as powerful as them,
i mean, the rapidity of the drums, lightning of the guitar picks
and at the same time being so fu*king melodious!!
wearing these masks was good, but what really captivated fans all these years
    was their music!!!!
take me as example, i have been listening to them since about 10 yrs, and still
no 1 could compare their music to other today’s popular bands!!
they created their own genre: BRUTAL METAL!!
it’s same as Kurt Cobain with grunge!
or even Jimi Hendrix’s experimental guitar playing which inspired others!!!

Good article, but so many spelling errors it made it hard to read.
His mask represent his own death! <–represents
His mask mean absolute pain! <— means
    Plenty more grammatical errors.
If you are gonna write something and put it where everyone reads it, at least proofread it or have someone else go over it. Other then the above stuff, good article very informative.
