Second Swine Flu Victim in Mauritius

August 12, 2009 / 21 Comments

After Fareeda Jowaheer, the first victim of H1N1 in Mauritius, a 2nd patient of 60 year old has been killed by complications arising from Swine Flu today in Mauritius. However officially nothing is being confirmed yet! (Article has been updated with 4 year old kid who died today – See below).

swine flu pigs

The 2nd victim is a patient of 60 year old who has been suffering from fever and pneumonia since some days as well as many of the swine flu symptoms. The Ministry of Health has not yet confirmed if the patient died due to swine flu as sample tests are still being carried out at the Candos hospital.

The crazy part about this is the BS way the hospital and health authorities are acting! From what I could gather about this it is now that they are doing tests to know if the “passed away” patient had H1N1! “Apre la mort to gagn la tizane dan sa couyonad pay en %&&*^$& la?”

In my opinion, as soon as the patient was admitted to their goddamn hospital they should have made the tests to know if it was a Swine Flu case! So why is it that now after the patient is no more alive that they will confirm IF IT WAS the swine flu?

candos hospital mauritius

I understand that the patient was weak and was a cardiac and diabetic patient. When he was admitted to the hospital, the doctors diagnosed that he was suffering from severe lung infection as well as many of the swine flu symptoms. Yet it is now that those m0ther f*ckers are going to do the tests?

WTF are we doing in this country? The hospital here is made to reduce the population of a country which is not even over populated? Whenever you go to the hospital and you’re goddamn sick all they give you are some BS Paracetamol and cough syrups (diluted version!).

I think here unless you got some golden notes and pay Apollo hospital your bucks you wont get any worth medical service. It’s 2 for now..and its not because of the virus! The virus is not that dangerous. It’s because our freaking health system is such a m0ther f*cker itself!

Update: Officials from the Ministry of Health says the person was not an h1n1 case. Weird.. symptoms are like h1n1 and even a severe lung infection. I just hope like Paul Berenger said it, the government is not trying to keep the population cool by hiding the real figures!

Update 2: 4 year old kid dies of h1n1 today 13 August 2009 – Case has been confirmed of being Swine Flu.

As usual “Apre la mort ou truv le cause” in this country. The kid was admitted in a severe condition yesterday to the hospital. The kid has “Grippe A” and guess what? The only treatment was serum! It’s today after she died that they announce she had swine flu!

Don’t you think we should rename Mauritius health service as Suicide Promotion Service? And yet some people dare to tell me am wrong when I give the merited swears to the concerned authorities!!

Dude document yourself .. it’s been a long time since WHO has established this flu is NOT SWINE flu thus should not be called likewise. It’s called H1N1 or “Grippe A”.

There’s also so much swearing in your article and comments…

    Peace out.

Thanks for mentioning that but I feel almost everyone if not all knows about it. Yea there is a difference but most people use the word “SWINE FLU” when talking HERE. It’s sort like many old people use the word EMTEL for mobile phones!

I use both words here to make the article sound like a blog post and not a news report copied from english and translated using google translate like some do. Well since you mentioned it, do check the tags, and previous articles. They all (in case i didnt miss it) contain the necessary terms.

Concerning the swearing in my articles, guy…believe me this is a blog and not a newspaper. It’s called versatile blogging. A blogger (most do it btw) usually express himself using the words that he likes. People who like it read it. On the other hand, you should have noticed that even though I use the swears… I use them in TWO IMPORTANT conditions only:

      1. They are censored using chars so that those who kno what it means, they know it. While those who don’t (which is rare) are not offended.
      2. Review all articles. There are different categories of articles on this blog. There are tech ones, professional ones, third party news report and personally affected one like this one. Swears or censored swears are used when it is needed to better express the inspiration. if you think only this blog uses swears, then do take the time to look for some other blogs (popular ones) around the same topics etc. You will see the blogsphere is filled with it.

In a post for children, the article is written in another way. In a post for teens, the language is different. In a post where mostly geek are targeted the terms used are different. Same applies for criticism articles ..like this one.

Just for ref: This guy is a real blogger (PotPolitics) – To use the words where needed and say what you have to say unlike newspapers.

Finally am not a brute lol. ;-) I also maintain two other blogs not known to the Mauritian blogsphere and of course the way to write depends on the topic on which you are writing. For example if I think X is a sh!t…i can’t say X is an angel.. right? Better be frank in life. And I appreciate you were too to ask the question.

      Peace. ;-)

@Bernardo, as if you never heard swears in your life

navin and jeeta are big swine

in mauritius our health service is not as good as in india, in india doctors have conpassion they make it a must to saVE LIFE. THEY LIKE THERE JOB WHERE AS IN MAURITUS DOCTOR LOVE MONEY. THATS WHY PEOPLE ARE DYING

IF THESE PATIENT WERE GIVEN TAMIFLU MAYBE THEY WOULD HAVE SURVIVE , DOCTORS FIRST GIVE AMOXILIN PANADOL IF A PATIENT IS NOT OK AFTER 2 DAYS THEN THEY GIVE TAMIFLU AS IF THEY HAVE LOW RESERVE OF TAMIFLU. SAMEM TOO LATE PEOPLE ARE DYING. NOW WHOSE FAULT IS IT MINISTERS OR DOCTORS.
