Huang Chuncai also known as the Elephant Man is a 32 year old guy from China who in fact suffers from a really dangerous tumor right on his face.
Many call him the Elephant Man due to the huge tumor that is growing on his face. He in fact suffers from [wikipop]Neurofibromatosis[/wikipop] which in turn contributed to this really severe medical problem. Huang Chuncai was even featured on Channel 4 show Bodyshock. (TV SHOW).
In 2007, he had a first surgery to remove nearly 15 Kg of tumor from the right side of his face. In January 2008, he again had another surgery to remove another 5kg of tumor. A third surgery is expected this year to remove this remaining tumor which has greatly disfigure him.
The third surgery is really tricky however as this remaining tumor is pressing against his brain and there is also a real risk of excessive bleeding. Let’s hope Huang Chuncai goes well along this surgery and be able to live a normal life again.

There was an Indonesian boy with the same condition. Died after two surgeries. The trauma from the operations was so great.
I don’t expect this poor fellow will live long. He needs some human kindness and I hope he will get it.

@charismath, Because his family couldn’t afford to pay for the surgery’s. It wasn’t until an esteemed doctor heard about his case and came to visit him in his small village and saw that his condition was so serious that he offered to perform the operations on Huang.
