There was a Tsunami affecting the Pacific Island states of Samoa and the American Samoa hours ago after a massive earthquake of magnitude 8.0 in the region! Over 25 people have died and lots of villages have been swept away after the tsunami.
The death toll is expected to rise as many are missing. The massive earthquake triggered a nearly 3 M tsunami. USA President Obama has some minutes ago declared American Samoa a major disaster area, making federal relief available to earthquake and tsunami victims.
Shaking near the epicenter reportedly lasted up to three minutes. A number of aftershocks also hit the area after the initial earthquake.
“We are seeing a lot of activity in the area,” a spokesman for the United States Geological Survey said, who also warned that more stronger aftershocks should be expected. The strongest aftershock struck at 12.45 p.m. local time, about 150 miles south-southwest of Samoa’s Apia, and had a preliminary magnitude of 5.9.

its like the indonesian sunami i remember well we were on boat outing that day when we heard there was a sunami we went to soufren harbour quickly . we were on katamaraN . ALL THESE DISASTER LIKE SUNAMI EARTHQUAKE FLOOD ITS BECAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING IF NOTHING IS DONE TO STOP POLUTING PLANET EARTH . THEN OUR OZONE LAYER WILL VANISH THEN PEOPLE WONT BE ABLE TO LIVE ON EARTH AS SUN WILL BURN EARTH
