The Duke of York Cup is scheduled for Saturday 24th October in Mauritius and fans of Horse Racing are of course awaiting this event as this is one of the highly awaited race days in the Horse Racing calender in Mauritius. Meanwhile discussion about who will win the prestigious cup is the trend.
So to not mix things up and provide a better discussion medium, here we are with the Duke of York Cup Debate. So the blog is your’s. Which horse will win, which stable or which jockey, it’s up to you. There will be no race on the coming Saturday so start the debate now by telling us:

Hi friends, i went through your different analysis and different race scenario possible but i can't help from saying that Captain's Knock can't be beaten in that race.
Shane Dye loves big races and don't forget that the Maiden Cup should have been his but miserably he launched his attack 1 stride too late 9he was unsure of Captain's Knock stamina over 2300mts)and that cost him the race . I can tell you that Shane Dye is eagerly waiting to make amends and grab his first classic race in Mauritius.
This horse is versatile, can run handy, one off, off the pace as in the Duchess of York and also had forcing tactics like his last impressive win. Having said that, Captain's Knock on winning the Gold Cup can even be crowned Champion horse if he goes on to the Coupe des Presicents.

@Ryan, Hi Bro? Hope u are fine. If you tell me to put 50 then I put 500! Why not? Probably you have stable connections – the way you are predicting the winner makes me think " tuyo la pas percer ca " !
But do you think Dye will ride it as it should be ridden? I was very disappointed with the ride of Dye on Hold My Jacket. Why did he wait for so much to ask HMJ for an effort in the last 50m only? Revolution and Burberry are not Rum Ration and Boy Wonder! Daby and teeha won with HMJ with uual tactics that is follow the leader and attack from the 300m. Ok if you wanna follow from off the pace its ok but do attack from the 300m. Dye is a top jockey – a world class jockey – he is known in the world as the Tactical Champion Jockey of the World but we see that he is riding with over confidence at times and this is costing him some important races for him and his stable. At the start of the season, I was really adoring what he was doing – he was the perfect Jockey but as the season went on I am more disappointed. Hope he does his best on Captains Knock.
I think I have said enough on Golden Dice. By the way the 9th draw will not affect my fave – Golden Dice of course.

@Sanjay, hi bro logically speaking if captain's knock win the race then the stable championship is finished for s.henry. do u think dye will let zis chance go on like zis as s.henry has no good representative in the gold cup. S.HENRY HAS SAID IN HIS INTERVIEW IF G.ROUSSET WIN THE RACE ZEN THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS FINISHED FOR ME. WNT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO COME BACK. GOLDEN DICE IS GREAT HORSE, I ADMIT. Hi Guys, good morning. According to latest news, The Cardinal will have Segeon as Jockey, most probably. Little Dalham has suffered an injury and may be he will not be in the Gold Cup. The Cardinal has already beaten Captain's Knock on 1600m a poids pour age to win the Derby. Note that The Cardinal finished strongly to beat Captains Knock fair and square with more than 1 length margin. This is already a reference.

@Ryan, Hi Ryan, thanks for your comments. First of all I don't feel offensed as you said but ya I don't see any blood. We "all" respect the views and comments of our friends here. Well, this is only our analysis, according to what we see from horses when in training or during their race. Everyone here is a fan of horse racing and horses and we have got the opportunity to express our views and I think this is the only site where we can give our comment and opinion.
By the way, I would really appreciate if you could tell why do you think that Captain's Knock will win the race? Is he really going to participate in the race and what about the Coupe Des President cup? Well, if he is in the race, this will surely make the gold cup more interesting.

@Ryan, Well Ryan i know how you love to daydreaming…Yes C.Knock will be present in that race but bro this week THE CARDINAL training session had been so so good…just awesome….Three rounds in cantering!!!!!Come on be practical…Even if Gecko was there he would not have done that????….So all fans of cardinal,i will just say that he is back to its very best…..He will rock man…I was dazed to see that training performance….the work of C.Knock to be frank was not fantastic but still is a good horse not necessarily a good trackworker….

@pravesh, Hi Pravesh hope u r fine. Well, no need to get so disappointed since these are minor problems. He will be back to best soon and prove what he is capable of! Profit Report is a classy horse but for shorter distance I think but never know. I think though he wont be able to replace a Gecko Dream. Hope Gecko hits back next year in the Barbe Cup itself. According to a friend who is a member of another stable, Gecko can recover in time but they wont take such a risk with him. In fact only this week end that a final decision will be taken. But better not risk him as Perdrau did last year with Sentinal.

Well, it's sad to know that Gecko Dream will most probably not be running the Gold Cup due to some slight health problems. Without Gecko the race will certainly be deprived of a potential winner. Simply bad luck bkoz it's the second time that Gecko Dream is missing a classic race.

@Sanjay, Well bro whoever win the race now i do not really care…In fact I was planning to go specially to champ de mars to see gecko passing the winning line…But now i will not even see this race..I'll just switch off my TV when the race is about to begin…U know im very very disappointed at present….Of course PROFIT REPORT will be a nice super sub but still GECKO is gecko….I just do not want to comment on who will be the winner but if gecko is there….then u know the rest……I fancy this horse so much that i even put my dog name Gecko…,just to tell u my affection to that cute horse…anyways goodluck for the winner as i wnt be watching this one….

Gecko Dreams would have surely been a hard nut to crack but we should not forget his stable companion Pick Six – who has a very good reputation. Winning this race he can emulate Elizondo.
Even if the horse has not done anything great until now he need only 60% of his form to beat the field so beware… BUT if the the price of the Cardinal is above rs400 then we should have a eye on him as he has improved a his last race.
