Cyclone warning for Rodrigues has been removed – Anja was located at 20.4 South et 65.3 East today at 04:00 that is about 220 Km East South East of Rodrigues. The cyclone is moving in a SSW direction at 20 Km/h and moving away from Rodrigues. (Last Update for this cyclone).

Cyclone Alert for Rodrigues is still set to ONE - Anja was at about 360 km ENE of Rodrigues at 16:00 today. The cyclone was positioned at 18.2° South and 66.5° East. Anja is moving at 15Km/h in a South South-West direction. The cyclone’s strength has decreased slightly compared to today morning at 4:00 but from 10:00 to 16:00 today there was no major change in its strenght. It keeps approaching Rodrigues Island and is expected to be at its nearest point from Rodrigues tonight as mentioned previously and predicted by the graph above.

Cyclone Alert for Rodrigues is still set to ONE - Anja was at about 425 km NE of Rodrigues at 10:00 today morning. The cyclone was at 17.4° South and 66.9° East. Anja is moving at 15Km/h in a South West direction. The cyclone’s strength has decreased slightly with maximum winds of 208km/h compared to 221km/h yesterday. It however keep approaching Rodrigues Island and is expected to be at its nearest point from Rodrigues tonight.

Cyclone Alert for Rodrigues has been set to ONE - Cyclone Anja was at about 525 km NE of Rodrigues at 4:00 today morning. The cyclone was at 16.5° South and 67.3° East. Anja is moving at 15Km/h in a South West direction. The cyclone’s strength is still the same as of yesterday and keeps approaching Rodrigues.

The cyclone strength is still as previously and it is now moving in a South West direction at about 16 KM/h – At 16:00 today Cyclone Anja (Ugly name!!
) was located at 14.7 South and 68.3 East. The cyclone maximum wind is at about 220KM/h – Rodrigues is expected to witness some weather deterioration at night but nothing too serious and no cyclonic weather condition is in the forecasts of Meteo Mauritius, France and NASA.

The cyclone was centered at about 13.5 South and 69.2 East at around 925Km to the North East of Rodrigues. Cyclone Anja is moving in a West South West direction. Speed: Very Slow.

Cyclone Anja nearly made any major move in the last few hours. The cyclone was at around 1000 KM to the North East of Rodrigues at 16:00 today 15 November. The exact location is 13.2 South and 69.9 East. The cyclone is having a tendency to move in the South West direction but its movement is very slow.

The cyclone ANJA has intensified into a Tropical Cyclone. At 10:00 the cyclone was at around 13.1° South and 70.5° East. Anja was at about 1020 Km to the North East of Rodrigues Island and is assumed to be stationary. For now the cyclone is not expected to affect the weather in Mauritius.

Have you ever heard the saying that dogs act nervous and cats get frisky as kittens when a bad storm is on the way? Here are some other behaviors that is suppose to predict the coming of bad weather:
Frogs croak louder and longer than usual.
Roosters crow later in the day.
Birds fly lower to the ground and gather on tree branches and telephone wires.
Pigs squeal more and gather sticks to make a nest.
Cows lay down in the fields to feed, and lay down to ensure they have a dry spot to lay. Cows also run around the field with their tails raised high swatting flies before a storm.
Bees and butterflies seem to disappear from the flower beds they usually visit.
Red and black ants build up their mounds around the holes, and may actually cover the hole.
Fish jump out of the water and nip at low flying insects.
