@Satyam, No prob. :) A bit late to enter the league as its ending..but you're welcome for the tips sharing. You'll be eligible for the International Weekend special league however.

@denis, Hi Denis, I strongly believe also that Perdrau stable was somewhere more equiped than Rousset. No doubt Hatt is a gr8 jockey here in Mri but have u seen him ride and won races in Hong Kong or even being sollicited to ride for big guns abraod apart from the "big guns in Mru?" Well, hat's off to Dye again who is the best Jockey. Sincerely, I beleive he is made of other metal. Dye was suspended from riding as a penalty for his ride on Hold My Jacket. Next time he rides Hold My Jacket with same tactics and won. This proved that Dye was not cheating but he really meant what he said i.e Hold My Jacket stops going forward once he hits the front. A shame for the stewards and Paterson! Specially Paterson who is known for his abilities since he has officiated in Hong Kong.

According to me Henry Stable was unlucky to miss out the Championship koz of mistakes from his previous rider - Faucon. If Faucon would have won on Constellation on the two occasions he finished 2nd on the line and the race where Wincourt was caught on the line I think this would have been the turning point. There is nothing to do with Dye being a world class jockey or not. As Ive said, Henry Stable had the best horses but his jockey did not ride to expectations when expected to do so. If only Dye was riding for Henry!!!!!

Well, on international day he will prove of what metal he is made of.

@Sanjay, my friend, this championship would have been a breathtaking one for sure but let me tell you that the most appealing thing is that Shane Dye succeeded in winning the premiership with such a limited amount of horses....those horses were running flat these last two months with some many runs under their belt.
We must simply recognize the class and know how of that great jockey who did what he could with the given tool though we all know, could have won many more races had been (keen ) to win...

@denis, thanks for you scientific approached to denote that Glen Hatt was more effective percentage wise than Shane Dye...but i am sad that you did not take into consideration the quality of Rousset Stable to others...Nothing impressive apart from Captain's Knock, Short Corner, Hold My Jacket and perhaps Pardon Me Boy!, all others being ordinary horses..
You mentioned Glen Hatt could have won the championship had he not be penalised for his ride on Pantaneira but where do you put the 20 penalty points of Shane Dye??? He more than once been spotted riding suspiciously than Hatt! Had Shane Dye really done his very best on these rides...what would have been the outcome??
Last but not the least...YOUR master Glen Hatt has ridden in Mauritius for years, most partnered big guns like Phililppe Henry, Kiki who had the best horses around while Shane Dye is at his very first season here in Mauritius and only being associated to an averaged stable!
Please don't compare Shane Dye to Glen Hatt,,,World Apart mate!!! Shane Dye is internationally known while Glen Hatt isn't! Hatt is just a good jockey for Mauritius.Ask Glen Hatt what happened to him 5 years ago when he tried his luck in Australia, specifically in Brisbane!!!! He simply couldn't match the guys there...For Mauritius , he is just a good jockey who handles the track perfectly and on top of that....knows the majority of the South African horses competing here!
I'd thought you would be aware that Shane Dye is a living legend and with more than 90 Group 1 wins including two Melbourne Cups and several premierships
, he his the ONLY living jockey to be part of the Hall of Fame of Australian Racing Industry. The World Federation of Horse Racing has voted jockey Shane Dye as the Best Tactical Jockey in THE WORLD!!!!
These are facts, and you just have to look on the internet to realise that people might make fool of you if you try to compare Shane Dye to Glen Hatt.! Cheers

Hi all,

I' ve read your comments last week about the match Dye/Faucon, having been in the crowd the last 3 weeks I heard a lot of good thing about 'master' Glenn Hatt. Just figure out guys, he rode 24 winners on 107 mounts!! Whereas Dye had 29 with 167, Faucon 28 with 198, his stable had 133 entries against S.Henry 321, G. Rousset 232, with a couple of outside rides(he had only 3 winners outside) he could have been crown champion with a clean sheet. His only mistake being a slack ride on Pantaneira on day 18. This said, I would recommend young racegoers to follow international races, get to know jockeys, famous trainers so that we can have a better judgememt and knowledge about the racing world. Hopeto join the championship in 2010. Enjoy the international week end.

Hi Guys? Hope u had a nice week end. Well, finally Shane Dye and Rousset Stable are champs! Congrats to them and their team! They really deserved it! A gr8 finish in the last race and we have seen the releif of Dye and Gilbert after the win on Steel of Approval. This time he made it start to finish. Rousset stable made it through in the most difficult way where everyone was expecting Henry stable to take the lead definitely with Constellation! but unfortunately Constellation did not win as expected. On the other hand, Betrayed which stood a good chance for Rousset and Dye was scratched. Definitely a bad start to what would have been a gr8 finish on the day. I believe Shane Dye and Rousset stable will never forget this day and the way they became champs!

Trainer Serge Henry also did his best but somewhere he was unlucky during the season where Constellation was beaten twice on the line and the same constellation, on which the stable was relying to make them the champs did not run to the expectations! There is also Wincourt which was beaten by Roman Trade on the line which I do believe has made the difference on the D-Day.

The same can be said for Rousset Stable who missed the Maiden only by a whisker! Otherwise they did not have to wait for the last race to be champs! Captains Knock has been the horse which contrubuted much in the making of the Champion!

Also, we have seen Hatt at his best on Pantaneira in the fourth race. One of the best finishes of the day.
