Mauritius National Lottery To Launch Quick Win
2009/11/26 - By Kurt Avish - 1,014 views
The Mauritius National Lottery (Loterie Nationale) will be launching 2 new games of chance in December. It seems that Mauritius is becoming a gaming den these days. We have the Horse Racing betting, Football betting, National Lottery and recently the Lotto of Mauritius.

This time they are announcing about two new games called Gold Chest and La Faya. Both will be scratch cards games (will also be known as Quick Win) where players will be able to win money if the buy the right scratch cards. The Mauritius National Lottery said that the 2 games will start on the 3rd of December 2009.
Gold Chest will be at Rs 20 per card and if the buyer will have a chance to win Rs 100 000 while La Faya will be at Rs 40 per card and the buyer will have the chance to win Rs 500 000.
I am just wondering if we are not pushing this gaming thing too far in Mauritius. I just hope some people don’t start playing like mad with the dream of becoming overnight millionaires! Playing with moderation and for fun is ok but when it starts to become an obsession, then it is not the right sign!

Zot tou p vin zougader mem…just like me..lol!

One of the four regulatives principles people should not be indulging upon is GAMBLING, ISKCON [sanatan dharma] forbid people to gamble ,because gamble corrupt the mind and make people families and the person who gamble sufferes more and more ,It brings more miseries and lead people to do all sorts and kinds of crimes to earn money for gambling.
The brothers in the Great Epic in MAHABHARAT lost everything ,even their wife Draupadhi.
So, as a sanatanist people who is god realised must not GAMBLE , be it hindu, muslim christian etc etc…
NAVIN RAMGOOLAM who is already a slave of egoism, hatred, lust, agner , pride is geraing the country towards total calamity and disaster.
Sooner or later to satisfy his political ambitions he will open BROTHELS in everycorner of mauritius.
He who lived in gambling will die as a gambler.

@rajking, Gambling when is in an obsession is bad.But for those who can afford it, I don’t see any bad. As long as they do it for fun and do not use all their money for it.

Gambling is already a big issue in Mauritius. Every year how many people spend a fortune which is not even theirs to bet on horses and the casino. Now its the lotto. Its true that the government is making a fortune but on the other side more and more people are becoming addicted to such games. I think that the govt should create a helpline for those game addict. They should be taken charge of before they commit the unrepairable – like suicide.
Also I think that the price of lotto and these games is unreasonable. Its too expensive. Most people can afford Rs 40.00 but at a price. Lets take the example of Australia, a lotto game cost 55 cents, and that’s very cheap here for someone earning an average salary of $ 2500 per month. But for a Mautitian earning an average of Rs 5000, Rs 40 is enormous

@Roshan, Yea the price indeed is expensive. However compared to australia, the population count is larger and so is the players count. So they are able to offer it at a lower price while keeping a huge jackpot.
Anyway “seki ena cash enplis p grate dan poche ki pu joue buku” lol
