Nomad Internet (ISP) in Mauritius was down for over 5 hours today morning. Attempts to contact the customer service FAILED as Nomad disconnected all phone lines. Multiple Nomad users on Twitter even reported the issue and specially the amateurish way their customer care officers (Specially a certain Ms Shameema from Nomad) responded to our contact attempts today morning.

The problem was noted since 06:00 today and maybe even much before by those who tried the service before 6 today. I tried to contact Nomad on their hotline 4664800 and their service was weirdly DISCONNECTED! I say disconnected and not busy because unlike them, we are not fools or newbie internet users. To verify this we even tried contacting them on their office number 4668801 and it was the same tone!
Normally when multiple users contact Nomad at the same time, users on call waiting will hear a jingle of Nomad telling them that a customer care officer will handle their request soon. However today morning while contacting nomad, we got a line unavailable tone! This clearly shows that Nomad Failed to respond to its customers query and had to block all incoming calls to the extent that they even blocked their normal office line!
Furthermore a certain Miss Shameema of Nomad miserably failed to give me a proper explanation why their service was down by trying to divert the discussion to the level of lies! As soon as I asked her what was the cause of the problem, she replied in an arrogant way that “Bein C’est Un Problem Interne!” And in response to our question of why the Nomad Customer Care line was BLOCKED, the lady gladly told us that maybe our phone which was not functioning well or maybe too many persons were calling their hotline for more than 1 hour!

To further continue this joker’s discussion, we placed forward a nice but very common question to Nomad. The famous question:
“Why is Nomad always having some trouble or the other and that they always take so much time to repair?!”
As a reply, our dear Nomad Representative, who said she is the Head of Department (we wonder of what Department!) replied the following:
“Non be just ou ki p raport tou sa problem la. Lezot dimun pa gagne”
Funny as it might seem, the same lady told us some minutes ago that the WHOLE OF MAURITIUS was suffering from this downtime in their service since more than 5 hours today! Nomad bluntly contradicted themselves. Maybe the officer thought she was talking to an IT junk on the other side of the line. Sadly I am not.
“A real shame to Nomad services. I have been using Nomad since more than 1 year now and Nomad is obviously the worst ISP in Mauritius. As part of being the most unreliable Internet Service Provider it is also one of the crappiest one and NOT RECOMMENDED! I am using it since the place where I live at didn’t had MyT or Emtel Network coverage. Well, now that Emtel has reached here, I think Nomad is going to the bin”
Many months ago I was going to discontinue my subscription with Nomad due to their extremely amateurish service and signal problem I was having. Nomad has a big problem with signals unless you live just under the emitting antenna!
They have some of the most amateurish network. So I went to Nomad’s office to kindly gift them back their modem and let them know that I was not going to pay for the two previous months of wh0ry services! However the Manager at that time preferred to negotiate and they finally found a way to give me a “supposedly” reliable connection by using signal boosters at my place.
That was in January. During this year there were MANY problems again. My signal and network availability problem were solved but there are many other problems with Nomad such as DNS cache, problem to find dns server, mysterious impossibility to login to their panel and of course a bunch of Sc-Failed jokers at the customer service who knows nothing except “rebooting the PC!”.
Well I have tolerated these as the problem would normally be solved within 30 minutes to 2 hours! But today it is the final drop which caused the flood. So I am dumping nomad soon! Very soon indeed!

This is what we called UNRELIABLE and AMATEUR! So if anyone of you wants to or is planning to use Nomad because you think it is cheap or for whatever reason, DO NOT GO FOR NOMAD! Nomad is not cheap by the way. A 512kbps of Myt is around Rs900 while a disgusting and unreliable 512kbps of nomad goes on the Rs1600!! So for those thinking that nomad is cheaper with its 64kbps at Rs550+, then you are wrong. Nomad is in fact the worst when it comes to Value/Money! (Wait for our upcoming post today evening to illustrate this Value for Money topic).
That company is a stigma and unless it works on making its service better and expense more on it, then this Dubai-Made-Sh!t should be closed out soon! AVOID NOMAD!
To Nomad: “Do contact me to hear more about the amateurish service your foolish staffs have been doing on the customer care service!”

Guys, Nomad has nobody to take care of their operations. When i say nobody i literally mean not a single experienced personal available in that company. All experienced ones left or were made to leave, dont know why…
now all that is left are amatuer professionals whose very first job itself was Nomad and who have no prior work experience of running such a massive network and make it profitable.
so forget about it. God Bless Them…..

The day I asked for refund in “another way”, my cheque got signed and the next day itself they posted it.
I returned my nomad after less than 5 months..They told me it will take 2 weeks to process the cheque ect..I was ok. After 15 days, from not hearing them, I phoned them. Told me that it will take further 2 weeks to process the cheque since they have not yet received my nomad rabbit shit. I was like WTF. I asked them their address..And the next day I posted(Express letter) them a nice letter explaining how I’m not concerned if one of their employees did some fault or whatever. And gave them 5 days to return the Rs500 before I take legal actions. And K boom. i received the 500 on the next day itself.
