Hangover severity is affected by the color of alcoholic drinks. A recent study revealed today that the hangover state level after drinking alcoholic drinks can be controlled by choosing the right color of drinks.

As Christmas and New Year approach, many of us will enjoy ourselves and be drinking lots of alcoholic drinks. So now if you wish to choose your level of hangover and avoid that damn headache when you wake up, just make a wise color choice. The study was conducted by researchers in the Brown University Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies and the researchers in the University of Michigan Medical School.

For the test, a group of healthy young people was taken. They were given a different type of alcoholic drink every afternoon and were not allowed to smoke or take other type of drugs.

The result was amazing. The researchers noticed that each color of alcoholic drink created a different hangover severity. Darker alcoholic drinks tends to create a greater hangover severity while lighter color ones creates a lower level of hangover.

However a good point to note is that the alcohol level of the drink is also a factor to consider. For the test, drinks with the same alcohol level were used and only the color were interchanged. So if you are the type to suffer from hangover easily, avoid the dark red or dark color wine for this festive season.

On my side I still prefer a good Seven Seas with the ice cubes and Orange juice in it.

I think lighter colour is more inviting but does not have the same punchy taste. I prefer sparkling wine of light colour. You feel like drinking with pleasure.

i cannot believe money was spent to fund this study…ask any college student they can tell you that the darker the drink the worse the hangover…would have saved tons of money that could have been used for scholarships to send more test subjects to school…

Lol. My friend you are right on this one. But… these guys needed to make something OFFICIAL (as we say it). Hence wasting money for a study was the key. Soon you will also hear that the made a study to show that one cigarette is less toxic than another one lol.
