The first swine flu case in a dog has been detected by doctors in New York. The H1N1 virus story is far from being over and now this possible transmission of the virus from human to dogs in keeping medical field on a surprised halt.

The infected dog is a 13 year old male doggy who began to experience breathing problems about ten days ago. On the 13th of December, the animal was taken to a New York veterinary clinic and was diagnosed as being infected with swine flu.
The dog’s owner was also suffering from swine flu but was already being treated for it. Medical authorities have stated that the dog most probably caught the virus from its owner who was already infected but the question that arises now is how come the h1n1 virus is being transmitted from human to dogs?!
Both dog and owner are recovering from the swine flu infection and are not at risk. However medical professionals now have a new puzzle to solve. Is the extremely low risk of cross infection of h1n1 between humans and animals is really SO LOW?

OMG now the turn to dog…wondering which animal might be the next victim?
