Nomad Mauritius Customer Care Inability to Handle Upgrade Request!

Nomad Internet Service Provider in Mauritius has one of the WORST customer care service and customer management service in Mauritius. Aside from being a complete failure at providing fair internet services, it is also really poor and cheap when it comes to solving it’s customer’s problem.

Sunday 6th December

I called Nomad to ask for an upgrade of the modem package from 64kbps to a 256 kbps. Instead of encouraging a customer who is looking for an upgrade and in other word supporting their service, they acted in a very unprofessional way and finally lost the customer (that is us!). We wanted to see how the 256 of Nomad performs and then ask for a 512 kbps upgrade. We were informed that the upgrade will take FOUR TO FIVE DAYS MAXIMUM but it can also be done before this.

Tuesday 8th December

I phoned Nomad again to ask about the upgrade. I was informed that the upgrade would be done on that Tuesday night itself. However on Wednesday morning, the connection was still that of a slow and turtle like 64kbps!

Wednesday 9th December

Wednesday afternoon I called Nomad again, and a sleepy and unprofessional customer care agent answered the call. The guy told me that the upgrade would be done in the coming 2 hours itself but even on Thurdays morning NOTHING was done!

Thursday 10th December

We called Nomad customer care service for more than 20 times! 3 different persons called nomad on my behalf to ask for an explanation and it was the same. Nomad replied that they had already upgraded the modem, however speed tests done on Speedtest.net and Speakeasy.net were reporting speed of less than 60kbps!!

Nomad 256 kbps result at around 16:00 on December 10 2009

While checking the customer online billing page, I noticed that the bill had already been updated with the price of Nomad 256 however the service itself was still SLOW as Nomad itself is known to be. By 17:00 we decided to call nomad and tell them how “IMBECILE” their “SERVICE IS“.

On hearing that, the customer care agent on 8th December hang the call like an uneducated agent (For reference it was a guy working between 16:00 to 18:00 on December 8th). This somehow indicated to us that Nomad cannot handle its customer’s complaints! The agent working on that day must have never heard about the famous French saying “Le Client est Roi“!

We redialed to Nomad and again after hearing us he hang the phone call without giving any explanation. What follows after is just a SOLID PROOF of Nomad incapacity of solving problems and the ULTIMATE AMATEURISM of this service.

For about 1 and a half hour the login page to Nomad stopped working and giving the error message “Same User Different Ip” – We verified with other Nomad users and their service was working so we are assuming that Nomad VOLUNTARILY blocked the connection so that we cannot check if the speed has been upgraded or not! The error code SAME USER and DIFFERENT IP normally appear when someone else is already using your login.

Not responding to our calls and blocking our internet access = We will no more be using your service Nomad!

Meanwhile the customer care officers on December 8th were not attending our calls. Thankfully we do have an alternate dial up connection with MTML and were able to keep updating Island Crisis.

This is one solid proof of Nomad ISP in Mauritius ultimate amateurism and unprofessional staffs who cannot even handle a customer’s problem. Furthermore, Nomad’s customer care officers are the worst that ever existed since a new management is in force at Nomad since some months! We cannot prevent this word from coming out: “Idiots and unqualified personnel” who were not even able to give us a good TECHNICAL explanation why the modem upgrade was not working while on the bills it was already updated!

Our review? 1/10 for nomad and to absolutely avoid! We wanted to upgrade to Nomad 512kbps but instead of encouraging a customer, they acted like amateurs. So I am officially announcing that Nomad is OUT here and it is onward Emtel Wimax which is being used. We’ll talk more about it in an upcoming article.
