Zhu Zhu Pets Are Safe

A spokesman for the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said today that Zhu Zhu Pets are not out of compliance. On Saturday, concerns about the presence of harmful heavy metal in the toys were raised by GoodGuide, a consumer group.

The presence of Antimony in the toy was said to cause vomiting if eaten and even serious lung problems if breathed. GoodGuide said that their own lab test showed the presence of this metal in Zhu Zhu Pets. However yesterday, Good Guide’s test method (X-Rays Shot Test) was declined by the CPSC stating that toys safety do not only depends on the concentration of dangerous substance.

CPSC said that it has concluded the toy does not pose a threat based on independent testing presented by the toy’s manufacturer Cepia.
