Google Page Rank (PR) Update January 2010
A Google Page Rank update for 1st January 2010 is in progress. I confirm this news since some sites that I know have had their PR increase on this 1st January 2010. A surprise and Google gift to the world wide web.
Island Crisis stays at PR 3. In fact as I was not expecting an update so soon since my backlinks from PR 5 sites is not up to the needed amount and I have not been really building or working on this factor since the last few months. Google PR is for fun and important for Google.
Any “REAL” SEO practitioner will know what I am talking about. But as a tradition we all want to get an increase in PR. On my side I am expecting to reach a PR 4 by the end of this year. However I am extremely happy for Priscus who reached her PR 3 from Pr 2. I think Yadhav also reached PR 2 from PR 1 and Island Website reached PR 2 from PR 1.
As for the other main blogs of Mauritius, (e.i Carrotmadman, Yashvin, Tushal, Sozzz, etc etc…including Island Crisis) all stays the same at their previous PR. On the newspapers side, Defimedia is also stuck at PR 4 and Lexpress remains at PR 6 while weirdly Le Matinal is at 0! So what about you?

You said it, I remained at the same place with a PR 3 while my photoblog and personal web site at PR2.

Now it is showing 5. On the day this post was written it showed 0. Maybe because the pr change process was still going on that day and as such pr check tools didn’t give the right number.

Page views and visitor count does not affect pagerank. It depends mostly on backlinks (but only one per domain is really given more importance and back links must be from higher pr pages and blogs).
For Pr 1, this is achievable normally during the first upcoming update if you have some links toward yr site.
