Youtube was down today for about 20 minutes and the service kept giving the message http/1.1 Service Unavailable. Apparently this could be another Chinese hacker attack on Google’s Youtube.
Google was quick to resolve the issue and right now Youtube is back online and functioning as usual. However this small 20 minutes of downtime created a real flood of tweets on Twitter and even on other Social Networks about the service being down.
For now (as at the time of writing this article) Google has not released any statement about Youtube’s unavailability but there are rumors that this could have been a hacker attack from China as we all know about the tension between Google and China during the past few days. However these are just rumors and we cannot base our belief on these.
We will update this article as soon as there is an official statement about today’s downtime.

Do you think that Google’s complaints on China’s censorship would really be the reason for this attack? The chinese don’t care about Google so what?

There are rumors that it could have been a hacker attack…but personally I don’t think so. Maybe an internal problem. Let’s wait for Youtube’s official reaction now.
