The Lorton Virginia Meteorite is still among a battle to a legitimate owner. For a recap on the 18th of January, a meteorite crashed through the window pane of a Lorton Doctor’s office and now a battle to identify its real owner is in place.

A doctor named Frank Ciamp had a real escape when the meteorite weighting about 250g came crashing at full speed into his office. At first it was thought to be a rock someone threw but a rock someone throw is not hot and does not look like the one shown above.
That was a meteorite right from space (of course). Since Dr. Frank Ciamp has nothing to do with it, he donated the meteorite to Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of Natural History. In return, the institution paid the doctor about $5000 as a way to thank him for sharing this artifact from space to the museum.
Money activates the greed factor and now the owner of the building where the Meteorite crashed in is claiming that the meteorite is his since it came into the building he owns! Here we go with an ownership fight for a celestial rock. Wondering what will happen the day human will conquer the moon!
A GREEDY LOSER indeed (The building’s owner). For the fact, the meteorite is estimated to be at over 4 billion year old!

I have no idea who you are or where this “publication” is from…but you really should learn how to do research before you slander folks! The landlord merely wants “to do” with his property what he wishes. He was on local DC news stating that he wants to donate it to a university for study. He never said he was going to sell it! YOU made that assumption (idiot). He has no mal intent and the doctors have very questionable motives…even though they publicly use the Hati story, their motivation is the $50k tax write off….

The owner may seem greedy – but the law is on his side. Finders Keepers doesn’t apply — meteorites belong to the landowner not the tenant. The doctors had no right to give it away or sell it.
