Electoral Alliance Between Labour Party and MMM? Your Views!

March 17, 2010 / 10 Comments

The General Election 2010 in Mauritius nears and the most insane buzz of it is of course the alliance between the Labour Party (Parti Travailliste) and the MMM of Paul Berenger. Isn’t that funny indeed? If the two major political powers join, we can even cancel the election! (Sarcastically!).

navin ramgoolam and paul berenger before election 2010

While Paul Berenger is seen as a really excited kid trying to win the election and “gagne un bout a tou prix” after the rumors of the alliance, Navin Ramgoolam is playing it wise and safe. He has not uttered a single word about it.”We will cross the bridge when we reach the bridge”!

So dear honorable, adorable, and whatever you like, citizens of Mauritius, what do you think of an alliance between Navin Rangoolam and Paul Berenger? The keyboard is your’s!

Everything can happen in politics, these two can shit on each other and then eat together, but however this alliance should not happen because very ethical from the part of these two parties and is also unfair to the supporters of each political group cause each has their conviction and are rival, and rival are not meant to be in the same team, as there will definitely be mismatch in the end…

Paulo in bien critique le Ptr pendant 4 ans et demi. Lot demi lannee li trouve pou negocier 1 lalliance r Navin, samem ki li ti p dir Le Premier Sinistre! 1 cout li declare ki li p ale en alliance avec so kamarad gros fey alias Ashok Jugnauth, c a dire sans aukene grand parti. Li ti mem prepare 60 candidats ou preske et chaque ti congres ki li p fer li presente zot.

Donc li laisse tout sa ban candidats ki ti ena lespoir pou gagne ticket la tomber, li ale negocier so lalliance r Ptr. Ca ban jeunes ki ti fini commence travay terrain depuis 1 ans deja li laisse zot tomber. Li dir lin fini ferme la porte au MSM akoz maniere MSM fine traite li!

Pou mwa Polo in tombe dans la bassesse – pakav ou critique 1 govt pendant preske tout so mandat et kan election pres ou ale mandier lalliance rli. C a dir li p get so propre linteret pas linteret pays. Pas blier ena boku ladan kuma Buldozer alias Bhagwan ki pou zot dernier election donc zot pou fer tout pou etre ministre avant ki zot prend retraite. Ca pou augmente zot pension!

Fer coumadir lalliance fin conclure, ki position Polo pou occuper? Vice PM?

@Sanjay, If i could speak in the name of students i would say loud that we do not want MSM in the government. MSM simply don’t offer good leaders… We(or simply me) want Berenger as leader because he is a man of vision. Need proofs? Just look at the Cybercity when you go to University(or along the motorway), who was behind this huge project? Have you noticed how many people(who were previously jobless) go there each morning to work?

Even if i am not a fan of PTR i have to admit that Navin worked…But since he wanted to ally with MSM i have no alternative to refuse my vote to him also. I would prefer PTR allying with MMM but it did not happen. We need a new generation of leaders for our country. If the veterans could train us(young graduates interested in politics) then the future of our country could be in good hands. We cannot deny that many Mauritians are disgusted with what politicians have been doing these last few decades(lies, bribes, false promises..). Even if there is still some communal problems in our country, i guess that we can improve on that and set an example to the world. We don’t have naturals resources but we have brains!
It is just recently that Americans have accepted a black as president, we are decades ahead of them because from generation to generation we have been fighting against communalism.

I don’t know if Berenger is the best, but for the time being he seems to be the most experienced in politics.

Anou amen nu contribution pu ene meilleur Moris!

@Roy, Roy, I agree with u that Mr Berenger is a very good Prime Minsiter for the 2and a half years he was though. But y did he asked for an alliance with the Ptr if he is such a good leader and a man with vision? He sold out the Prime-ministership once he started negotiations to conclude the alliance. Thats my point of view.

Secondly, it was Sir Aneerood’s Project and the one to initiate the Cybercity my friend. Please go and check it out for yourself! Talking about leaders, there are many like Sir Seewoosagur, Sir Aneerood, Emmanuel Anquetil as well as Mr Berenger. I agree that nowardays there are no such gr8 leaders but the only option left, Mr Berenger in fini abaisse limem devant so adversaire kuma to oule dimun fer dimun kumsa confians my friend?

Enfin c ca la politik a Maurice! C 1 cercle reserve pou certaine personne seulement – vire tourner meme dimun!
