Bermuda Triangle Scientific Approach and Theories

There are many scientific approach and theories about the Bermuda Triangle. I assume you already know about the highly famous and mysterious Bermuda Triangle too.Intriguing our people since decades and more, this place is an epitome of mystery which is worth a discussion here.

The Bermuda Triangle is a triangular shaped area located in the North Atlantic Ocean. The area is noteworthy because of the number of unexplained disappearances that have occurred there. (For those who never heard about it) – Ships and aircrafts have gone off the radar after sailing or flying into this zone, never to be heard from again. The mystery deepens when remnants of these vessels are never found.

In an attempt to explain the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle, theories abound. Such theories include everything from aliens to government cover-ups yet none have been proven 100% conclusive.

In recent years more attention has been focused on the reports of disappearances, crashes, and sinking’s. Through careful research, many of the reports have been proven to have been exaggerated and still others have been discounted completely. Comparatively, the destruction by an inside source, such as the entire crew of a ship has been reviewed and is represented one possible answer to the disappearances. Monetary gain would be the most likely motivating factor allowing the crew to split the bounty and then simply disappear.

In addition many believe that the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle are no more mysterious than any other location in the vast ocean. Catastrophes of this nature occur throughout the ocean, and when compared the triangle does not represent a more dangerous area than other locals.

Scientifically, the reasons behind the disappearances points to the idea of underground volcanoes that release a natural gas known as methane. These volcanoes or hydrates have the potential to erupt simultaneously and cause destruction to watercraft. The resulting debris would then be carried away from the area quickly, leaving no visible evidence. This theory however, does not explain aircraft that are lost in the area.

Weather has also been described as possibly playing a role in the legend and would account for destroying not only water vessels but also aircraft. Hurricanes are capable of producing the power needed to sink a ship as well as sheer wind velocity could bring down a small aircraft.

Lastly, a theory proposed by the United States Coast Guard concerns compass direction. In their report it was stated that there is a difference between magnetic north and truth north by nearly 20 degrees. This difference could account for ships being lost or located milks from their destination. This theory produced a lot of controversy and has since been discounted. The idea that seasoned ship Captains could become disoriented and then disappear due to a mere 20 degrees difference was found to be ridiculous.

These are only a few of the many theories that abound regarding the Bermuda Triangle. As technology continues to advance and scientists pursue new discoveries, no doubt more ideas as to the why of the Triangle will be revealed. It is our nature to try to explain the unexplained.

And now, let me know what do you think about the Bermuda Triangle. What is your theory and possible explanation for the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle?

Is the Triangle responsible for shaky hands too? Too many errors in this one!

S**t happens. I could believe in the mystery unexplained and government cover-up. There could be a reason they want to keep us away from the area. In fact, there could be a million reasons to scare us into staying away. Diego Garcia?

    Haha

Yep! definitely a lot of errors.

A lot of conspiracy theories have been associated with the Bermuda Triangle but not one of them was proven right or the real reason for the disappearance of a lot of ships, planes and people. Because of these theories, the truth could have been hidden already amongst those theories, who knows?

But one thing for sure, those islands are inhabited. Maybe the locals there can shed some light on this?

@Tj, thousands of ships and planes pass the area daily, infact it is a popular pleasure boatins spot. Yes there are many disappearances but it is quite normal considering the traffic it receives. The Bermuda Triangle is a media hoax. You are an idiot!

Think for one minute: Your mum told you not to go into the kitchen because there were ghosts or other unforeseen dangers there.

The truth was far from it. Since our early days, we are programmed to dread the unexplained and believe anything said by someone in a position of authority.

There are islands inside the Triangle. Yes, people live there. Perhaps they just have another Chagos or Diego Garcia there!

The Bermuda Triangle is a geographic area with it’s points being at Miami, Florida, the island of Bermuda, and San Juan Puerto Rico. In this area, over the course of time, many different aircraft and boats have mysteriously disappeared without a trace, leading many to believe that the triangle has something unusual about it that is swallowing up people, planes, and boats.

There are many theories as to why and how these things disappeared, but it has yet to be conclusively answered. Many of the wrecks happened such that no remains or wreckage or oil slicks were ever found, and in at least one instance, and entire squadron of bombers, 5 planes, disappeared without a trace. While out on a search for the bombers, another plane supposedly exploded over the sea, but no trace of it was ever found either. The final recording of the head pilot back to the base was nearly incoherent, with him mumbling about entering white water, and saying “we can’t make out anything.”

After this event in 1945, people became interested in what exactly was going on in the Bermuda triangle, and why it seemed to attract so much unexplainable disaster.

What is the Bermuda Triangle? Patate, listen carefully! Obviously, it is a geographical location linking Florida, Puerto Rico and the Bermudas. It covers just about 500 000 square km of the Atlantic Ocean. Here is the catch: This area of the ocean has been the scene of several mysterious disappearances over the last 100 years. A short list? Here it is
    Beechcraft N9027Q, Feb.11 1980
    Piper Cherokee N3527E, March 26, 1986
    Jamanic K Motor vessel, March 20, 1995
Cesna 210, drops off radar on june 14, 1999

Scary? Mysterious? Unexplainable? Not at all! I had the amazing idea to register for an Environmental geology class this semester. I will never again be mesmerized be the Bermuda Triangle myth! Scientifically and geographically explained, the strange phenomenon is surprisingly easy to understand! Here it goes!
    METHANE GAS HYDRATES!!!
This area of the ocean has large concentrations of methane gas trapped in the ocean floor. The gas is due to dying and decomposing sea organisms which are buried in the sediments. The sediments contain bacteria that produce methane, which accumulates as super concentrated methane ice, called gas hydrates. Within seconds of a methane gas ‘’bubble’’ rupturing, the gas will surge up to the surface of the ocean without warning. Any ship located above such a rupture would immediately sink to the ocean floor and would very rapidly be covered with sediments! Even planes flying above could catch fire following such a blow-out!
    There you have it!
The infamous Bermuda Triangle is no longer a mystery to you!
