North Korea Prepares For War!

South and North Korea are priming their rhetoric to what looks like critical. It all started with international investigators accusing North of torpedoing Chenon Corvette, one of the naval ships in March this year in which 46 sailors were killed.

north and south korea

Each is waiting for the other to ignite the fuse. The increasing crescendo across the well defended cold war border in the region,  became a matter of nightmare for the investors and quite bothersome for diplomatically aligned nations.

The analysts are of the opinion that neither of the two would dare to tread the way of wars since North Korea is a pigmy against the South Korean technical superiority. On the other hand, why would South Korea jeopardize its commercial affluence by terrorizing its investors? There has already been a 2% fall in the won but of late has somewhat regained as efforts are on way to dilute the crisis. On the other hand, North Korea who witnessed a 10% fall last year in the trade would expect some more.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Beijing is trying to persuade China to harness North Korea from following the path of violent activism and termed it as a “highly precarious” situation on the Korean peninsula. The White House also asked Pyongyang to discontinue its “belligerent and threatening behavior”.

Meanwhile the South Korean President  asked North Korea to tender an apology. He has also indicated his intentions to go to the UN Security Council. It may be noted that North Korea is unable to manage its economy with the past sanctions.

As regards to additional sanctions, The U.S. is avoiding an answer, China is unlikely to support and Japan is contemplating.

President Lee said, “It is now time for the North Korean regime to change.” South Korea intends to reduce the number of workers in a joint factory just inside the North. It will be a severe blow to Pyongyang.

The key player in this tussle is obviously China, the only major power that supports North Korea. It has kept itself insulated from the blame game for the time being and would make its own assessment of the reasons behind the ship sinking.

“South, North tension is certainly not positive,” said Kwak Joong-bo, a market analyst at Hana Daetoo Securities. However, there is a sign of relief from Lee’s comment which did not have any suggestion of military retaliation.

Thunderous clouds do not rain most of the time.

    Epic Doom is coming.

With a name like that, the doom will assuredly be upon your own head, unless you repent.
