Mayan Apocalypse Island Location Found by Jim Turner

Authors: Kurt Avish | Categorised in: Others

Knowing where the Apocalypse Island the Mayan predicted is back to the buzz after the worldwide effect produced by the 2012 End of the World movie. It is said that there is a secret island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that hold a very important clue about the Mayan prediction for 2012.

Apocalypse 2012

History channel recently mentioned about it and since then the topic is eluding people more and more. There is even one explorer who is claiming that he has found the answer to this amazing Apocalypse Island puzzle.

Jim Turner, the guy we mentioned above said that he stumble upon a remote artifact 10 years ago and has since then been preparing for an expedition to the Apocalypse Island. The Mayan predicted that as the world ends in 2012, the Gods will go on that Island to observe the end of the world as we know it today!

Juan Fernandez Islands - Apocalypse Island

Juan Fernandez Islands - Apocalypse Island

The map above shows the guessed answer to the Mayan Apocalypse Island location. So could the Mayan Apocalypse island be the Juan Fernandez Islands which are 400 miles out to sea into the pacific ocean from Chile? But then who believe that the world will end in 2012?!

Jim Turner took down his site on December 18. No trace of him. He said he would be on Robinson Crusoe Island at the rocks on December 21. Apocalypse Island information site:

Hey history channel, My dog took a dump in that back yard that slightly resembles a Mayan god or maybe an Egyptian god, whatever, Please send camera crew and large sum of money so I can make some bullcrap “documentary about nothing.
Do ya’ll do any research before ya’ll budget a pseudo-docudrama? or do you just hand out bags of cash to any idiot that walks in the door? By the way, there is an airport on the island.

    nick,
” ‘Energy’ has only one definition”….first of all, says who? says scientists? also, what the hell are “definitions” (or any word for that matter) besides things we have made up to help us put meaning into our existence. I don’t believe in absolutes, so words (and most meanings, or DEFINITIONS) we attach to things are just things/words/ideas/crap/mumbles we as humans have made up to help us try to understand the things around us. I don’t have any comments about this thread/discussion particularly I just wanted to point out the craziness in thinking that anyone or anything (science, especially the narrow science we use in our world today)can tell us for 100% fact that “there is only one definition to the word ‘energy’”…there isn’t only one definition to anything in this world or any other world…that’s what makes all these arguments pointless and redundant and only serve to take attention from the real point at hand: that NOTHING can be proven for sure, so counting something out because our modern science hasn’t “proven” it yet is erroneous and shows a lack of imagination…which, without (imagination), we would not even be as far along in our modern “science” as we are today. ask einstein

I HOPE THAT WHEN THE END DATE HAPPENS, IF WE ARE SHOWERED WITH SOME AMAZING COSMIC RAYS, THAT I AM ABLE TO HAVE MY DNA ATTUNED TO THE FREQUENCIES I WAS MEANT TO HAVE, AND PERHAPS ADD EXTRA KEYS.

I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED IN ENERGY HEALING AND OTHER PARANORMAL PHENOMENON, BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY EVIDENCE OF IT.

I WOULD LIKE TO EXPERIENCE THIS PARANORMAL WORLD IN THIS MATERIAL WORLD, SO THAT ONCE AND FOR ALL THE MYSTERY IS EITHER PROVEN OR EXTINGUISHED.

^^ Wow! I can’t even begin to point out everything wrong here. For one thing “Energy” has only one definition. It is “the measurable capacity to perform a task”. Energy is not something mystical. Energy is measurable and quantifiable. There is no such thing as “healing energy”. If you eat a candy bar for instance, the amount of energy (measurable capacity to perform a task) you gain from the carbohydrates, sugars, and proteins are measurable. Please read “A Demon Haunted World” by Carl Sagan. I think it’ll be a huge help to you in understanding how the world really works.

Are there any evidence of educational, scientific or professional credentials for Jim Turner on the web? Any peer-reviewed articles of his work in archaeological and scientific journals?

To be honest, I’m a little dubious of someone who claims a scientific background who believes in ancient “prophecies” at, seemingly, face value. I’d love to see something from a scientific peer-reviewed publication evaluating his work.

History channel provides little or no critical or skeptical examination or analysis of all things “Woo”. I wish the History channel and Discovery, to a lesser extent, would understand that being credulous and encouraging peoples’ credulity is not a virtue.

Encouraging rational, critical thinking rooted in the scientific method is what we should be encouraging. Promoting “Woo”, fear and superstition benefits no one.

flights go to the island from chile everyday….for tourist.
    Sorry for me bad english

  • Doc

Film was interesting. But calling that pile a “munument” is stretching credulity.

As for the two protagonists climbing that impossible climb…….I had to laugh. Especially the 2nd guy who was harnassed, throwing his arms up to say “I did it.”

Two hours? Might have been an interesting 30 minute show. Or it could be used to argue there are too many channels.

  • Not_A_LOONEY_r_YOU?

oh one more thing…its funny how the camera man had no problem climbin the 150 foot stupid rock with a camera and those other 2 pussys took forever…this is so fake and staged…get a life losers

    • Laurie

you ever heard of zoom in the photography world? lol I thoroughly enjoyed Jim Turners little expedition and have been hoping for his return to the island to excavate. You have to have faith in the Bible, because most of it cannot be proven. As far as the Myans, there is lots of proof, and their calandar is so precise and right on; As far as our technology today, our top people cannot duplicate or even come as close to what the Myans did. The Myans proved to be correct, right down to the day of this up and coming winter soltice, and Venus crossing a path in front of the sun! WOW look out Dec 21, 2012

  • Not_A_LOONEY_r_YOU?

jim turner and everyone in this show..have fun burnin in hell…the mayans believed in poking there penises? really? 2012 will be another year of nfl, ncaa champions, and prob higher gas prices…somebody needs to drop jim and all you other mayan retards off on the island and let yall have at it. otherwise read the bible…im not gonna trust anything these nuts and those idiot mayans did…how can you possibly read any of those statues, calendars, and other crap with a true mayan livin on that island to explain it? thats like dropping a guy off in poor africa and him finding artifacts and sayin “oh these carving of a tiger eating 2 elephants means the world is gonna end” …geez you people need to get a life…jim turner, get a life you piece of crap

    • Steve

@Not_A_LOONEY_r_YOU?, Wow turning to name calling. That is real intelligent. And if you so believed the Bible as you claim, why would you try and bring someone’s reputation down in public. Or do you just use the Bible for your own personal gain? Stating they are going to burn in hell. Hmm, if I remember right (and I do)judgement is reserved to The Father and The Son. Not man. Lastly, any group that can ACCURATELY predict solar, lunar and planetary cycles using a string or rope and not computers will get my attention. The eclipses they predicted (thousand years in advance)are dead on. We can’t do a better job with the use of computers.
Will this be the end of the world. Absolutely not. No one knows the hour. Will it change life as we know it? We all will have to wait and see. No one knows that answer either. But considering the events of yesterday 9/4/2010: 1) Solar storm that is bigger than the planet we live on 8,000 miles across (thank God it was not pointed away from the Earth)and the earthquake in New Zealand that ripped open a new fault line in the Earth’s crust. People may want to consider a plan in case..something happens. Better safe than sorry.

      • Laurie

Hey Steve, I realize it has been a while since you commented on not looney, but I just watched the program last night and I found it fascinating! I agree with everything you said, and I have always been amazed at the calandar the Myans were able to create. The dates of the upcoming path of Venus, crossing the sun is in June, and they were also dead on, with the date of the alignment on December 21 2012. Right down to the day is an astonishing feat that our own scientists are unable to figure out how they did it so exactly. WOW

      • gart

        You are a complete idiot!

  • John

I’m afraid that I really can’t see a Mayan monument in that column of rock. It looks like a natural volcanic chimney to my untrained eye. I can’t see any evidence that the rock was carved by anything other than natural erosion.

I don’t think Mayan kings were big on hiding their monuments as this program suggests. They were symbols of their power, only useful to the power elite if they were fully visible to public. It doesn’t make sense to make one on an island way out in the middle of nowhere that no one will be able to see.

Instead of climbing the darned thing, which didn’t seem to do anything to support the veracity of their claims, why didn’t they use that time to dig a trench in close proximity to the “monument?” I’m sure if it had been carved by them, something would have shown up around the base of the structure, like flints or pottery or something. Hundreds of people working on a sculpture of that size would have left a lot of trash on the island.

They had a lot of experts talking about the Maya, but why didn’t they have any of the experts, plus geologists, give their opinions on the photographic evidence that the pair brought back from the site?

I think the young archaeologist in the documentary is deluding himself, seeing things that just aren’t there.

    • Willyjay

Just wasted 2 hours of my life on this show. John, you are correct sir. It is a volcanic spire and that’s all. That’s why they didn’t show any pics of it until the very end because if they would have everyone would have changed the channel. If you do any kind of research you find out the whole theory is laughable. What amazes me is that someone at the history channel green lighted this project in the first place.

  • stewbum

2004 last transit of venus 2012 next so maybe not so big of a deal?

  • Earl

How could the pictures of the monument, the hikes, and other remote videos done? There are available some small video cameras that are carried by remote control small helicopters. A battery operated digital recorder in a pack or set on the ground nearby could get it all ready for editing and processing. OK? The use of a charter fishing boat was probably the least expensive. Most likely this man spent ten years saving to do the trip because anyone he approached for support and funds, told him he was seeing things that were not there, not unlike the many derisive comments here. The island of Juan Fernando is visited by tourists, but it appears to me the one further west is where they went. A location as near to the Tropic of Capricon would be ideal for observing any astronomical event. Maybe this is where all the Maya went.

That is more than I can say about you. If you thought the world hates you because you are american, then you are destined to miss the picture. I am having some trouble with some of Turner’s pictures. The one on his website that shows the “Simulated view of Total Solar Eclipse during sunset on November 13, 2012.” During the show he said that since it is near the summer solstice, the sun will be visible past the ridge in the right side of the picture. So if it is sunset in the pic, they are looking west, with north being to the left. Is the picture flipped?

Anyone ever think or take a look at the various civilizations where it can be interpreted through some of the writings and drawings that a exterestial race visited this planet? that maybe if there is some truth to that …that some knowledge was given to them. i believe the mayan had some insight on space and time given to them. there are things that are just now being proven by present day scientists that civilizations figured out without the equipment we have today.ex locations of stars outside our solar system that would be unable to see with the human eye…i believe the mayan may have been one of those civilizations and i find them very interesting. if the 5th phase ends in 2012 and it suspected that this monument was made to allow the “kings” to return to this planet to observe the last day….maybe they will revisit at that point of time

  • Andy says….

Read Carl Johan Calleman books on the mayan calendar. HE KNOWS HAT HES TALKING ABOUT UNLIKE THIS PERSON. the calendar is a map of human evolution, and by 12/21/2012 the evolution of human consciousness will be complete and exit the dualism of the past to bring unity. that is why the calendar ends. because human consciousness is done evolving then and we will begin to all be one mind. not without resistance of course…..

    • Eric Muise

Wow, what a statement, with much interesting clarity to it. I wonder what you mean by “complete and in unity”?. Do you mean that, Man will now have a common intent?. If resistence is present; Does this not undo the “completeness, done evolving, and unity prospects?. Perhaps it will be more of a “turning of the tides” moment?.

  • justin

how come so many people are denying that this could happen or that these things exist n then say “read your bible” ….the bible too can be “a load of crap” because there is no real proof of any of that crap either

  • ajcon4

About the show, I watched it too and I guess to hang it on the cameramen etc is to hang it on every show, because every program on every channel does that, eg: Bear Grylls eating bugs for a week with a camera crew behind him (who probably don’t eat bugs). No one wants to see a whole doco done from dodgy hand-helds, producers would never allow it.

I’d like to think the rock was Mayan, and there certainly is evidence all three astrological events in 2012 can be seen from there, which just happens to be out in the middle of the ocean. For a project I’m doing on religious doomsday scenarios, does anyone have/know where i can get a diagram of the Mayan monument with the panther and all, with all the moss shaved off so i can show what they “suppose” it looks like? That would be great :)

As for the apocalypse stuff, I can’t wait for 2012 to pass nice and peacefully like 2000 did. We will all have a laugh about it later.

  • tonymac

    Go to Turners website.
He is talking about a sequal and all negative postings have been remoned.
Yes, there are some idiots that really liked this POS.

  • Grandma Pachi

    What a wonderful adventure~~!!!
Do you imagine the Mayan traveling in their canoes in the vast Pacific Ocean, following the stars and finding this magical remote island, where they could bury their treasure and leave it for modern people to find?
When you walk the silent trails and arrive at the summit where the sun god 150 feet tall rock and the crouching jaguar behind it are…it takes your breath away….
    You are never the same…
We only have two more years to find out if the Mayan were correct in their predictions….
I am Chilean and I have been to the island as a young teen,
not only the island is magical, has its own magnetic spell, but when you sit at night under the brilliant stars, you understand why the Mayans chose this place..
They were getting away from the Spaniards who were killing their people and stealing their treasures and traveled far out into the sea, to hide their knowledge, so it could be found by a future peaceful generation ….I recomend to everyone to visit the island between November and February..and to lie down on the cool grass at night, looking at the stars.. in the silence of time…..

  • Arizona Moose

The History Channel had a show on called, Armageddon — Apocalypse Island, about this find. My take on the finding as seen on the History Channel is a farce. First, these guys show that they have to row ashore, when on the other side of the island there is a community of about 600, and a dock. No wonder the skipper of the boat they charted thought they were stupid to have the deckhand row them to shore through the surf.

Yet another problem with this “2012 Apocalypse Island”, is neither the Venus Transit nor the solar eclipse will be seen in its entirety from this location. For a NASA map of the Venus Transit in June of 2012 go here: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/transit/venus/Map2012-2.GIF . And for the Solar Eclipse go here: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEgoogle/SEgoogle2001/SE2012Nov13Tgoogle.html . As you will see the transit of Venus will be in process at sunset, and the Islands sit too far South for it to be seen as a full eclipse.

Sorry to bust a bubble, but according to the NASA maps, it looks like Northern Australia is the best viewing for both occurrences and not Isle Juan Fernandez. Looks like the Mayans got it wrong this time….

    • jbullfrog

just as a side note, talking about australia one of the reasons for cpt cooks travels to the south pacific and the so called discovery of australia (the east coast anyways)was to view the transit of venus.

ps please dont encourage the good dr he he though i must admit it makes for good reading and contemplation cheers

    • Laurie

Hey Moose, not sure you are right with all the “Nasa” stuff. Just remember that the Myans created this calandar so precise, right down to the exact year and DAY of the upcoming events. This is something that has baffled all of our scientists, including those at Nasa. Hell, they can’t even recreate this precise calandar of time and space, even with all their technology. So don’t be fooled by your disbelief. You better start believing because who knows what other secrets were kept by these incredible people.

  • Pat

BTW they rent “primative” mopeds for $10 a day with which on can drive right up to this super important discovery. Hey, while youre there could you bring a garbage bag? I’ll bet one could easily make $10, thus paying for the moped picking up beer cans left from all the other archaeologists! Thx
