The Stupid Robot, Obama and Nomad!

Been some days I have not blog anything here. It was on Sunday the last time I blogged. Well infact I was so damn busy with a damn assignment of Management Support Systems to create an Expert System. So before I tell you the story of Nomad for which this post is made, let me narrate to you the story of the Expert Fraking System!

Well I am supposed to make a sample expert system for an assignment. Frak it! It was to be submitted today and ofcourse I had worked on it. Here is the question:

Students are expected to participate in a group project focused on studying the architecture and behaviour of an intelligent system in a decision making context. Students may use a pre-existing program (shell) or write their own.

A number of AI freeware are available on the internet and the students are expected to make the most of these both for the miniproject and lab work.

The student is expected to write a group technical report (including diagrams and bibliography) on his/her study.

More details will be given in due time.

Well the stats indicates that it was said that it was to be done in a group and frak it… this module has only 11 students! I managed to got a guy with whom I was supposed to work but finally I NEVER HEARD of him again! That’s a real WTF situation and so I had to do my project alone.

Island Crisis Crazy & Stupidity Awards Result

Ok we are at day R! Its time to compute the votes and award the Island Crisis Crazy and Stupidity Award 2008. I see that some people voted for some questions and didnt vote at others for I don’t know what reasons. So some questions got more voters than others. So time for the little funny award ceremony lol.

So lets start with the awards. You can see the updated and final results here at this post. We shall now proceed with a unique design to award each winner… Well in this particular award which is based on public votes. I feel a looser will be proud lol. So the winners….

Most stupid and amateur ISP of Mauritius goes to NOMAD with 60% of votes followed by MyT with 20% of votes. So congratulation nomad and please try to give a better service now so as to not be a winner in the next alike awards.

The Most Amateur and Idiot News Website award goes to Defimedia.info based on user votes specially. And you know why!

Now time for the Most Ridiculous FM Radio in Mauritius. We got a distributed result in this one and all the radios got some stupidity votes. That’s nice to see Top FM as NOT STUPID. The winner of this category goes to Radio Plus with 26% votes and followed by Taal FM with 19% votes. Radio Plus… well they do give news on time, except that at times they COPY news from external source and they even make mistake to copy! One example is for the Mumbai terrorist attack where they said that one of the terrorist was a mauritian lol. So congratulation R+ and keep improving lol.

Now we have the Most Coward Political Party of 2008! Good sharing of votes here too and ‘Les Vert Fraternel’ wins with 41% of the votes followed by the MMM with 24% of votes.

The Most Probable Winner of Next General Election goes to… woo its a draw! 43% of votes goes to the Labour Party or to the 2nd option of some masala mix of some of the parties including MMM and MSM with Labour Party! I don’t know to whom to give the winning award so take this for you…and we’ll see when the general election is over lol.

And the award for The Most Amateur and Ridiculous Public Service in Mauritius proudly to the MBC – Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation.

And finally to end this wonderful award ceremony its the award for Most Idiot & Unprofessional Newspaper of Mauritius 2008! The award goes to Defimedia again!!!

Post Nomad Technician Intervention!! – New Google Result Votes!

Ridiculous is the word that best suite Nomad Internet! For those who missed the first episode, the have a look here for the last version and here for the anger version.

So today the technician from Nomad came home for an on-site test and unfortunately he could not do much! I wont curse the guy because he tried his best but finally find out that the problem is with the internet connection itself! Infact this morning I took my laptop and nomad modem and went to work. Nomad has their antenna just about 100 Meter from where I work at Vacoas. More precisely at A1 Vacoas. The connection was ok when I tested it there. So I knew that my modem was not faulty.

Getting back to the onsite test. So the guy tried to position the modem at different positions to obtain the best result. And the final conclusion was that the signal itself is low. I am getting my internet connection from La Louise Quatre Bornes antenna. Great! And I live at Vacoas! That’s another very reliable logic. Finally when he positioned in ON the TV furniture the signal went from 1 to 2! Innovative! So one advice to those who are running toward nomad… do have a high 2 meter height TV furniture at your place as you will very probably need to place it there to get some decent connection speed.

Nomad Rabbit Modem Playing The Whore

Blogging has become such a long time consuming task since some days as my nomad internet connection is so damn slow. A post which would normally take around 30 minutes to complete is taking more than 2 hours as I also have to look for appropriate images and other stuffs. Nomad or their ‘modem’ decided to ‘joke’ with me since Thursday 20 November so let me ‘joke’ with them today!

Thursday 20 Nov 08 – 19:00

While I was browsing my own blog I saw that the sidebars were not loading! I thought it was a problem with my blog. I cross checked with some friends but at their place it was loading well. So I said the problem is maybe with Nomad and it will be fine by Friday morning. I phoned Nomad and I was told to scan my PC for spywares! I did it and no spyware! I phoned them again and was told to now do a speed test 3 time at 30 minutes intervals!

The connection is indeed much better than the previous night but after just 10 minutes…shit… The same problem of slow connection as of the previous day is back. I waited for nomad’s call during the day and they never called!!

Friday 21 Nov 08 – 19:45

I started to feel annoyed at the slow connection and started to yell at the Nomad dudes!!! Yea you got to yell at them and swear to wake them from their sleep!! After the hypertensionic event I got to talk to one of their technician who asked me to do so many stuffs but they connection remained so damn slow! I asked that a technician come to my place to check but since their techkies dont work during the weekend, so its only on Monday that they can send someone…. ofcourse they had to hear a curse from me when they said that!!

Saturday 22 Nov 08 – 17:00

I took my modem to the Nomad stand at Jumbo to test it there but found out that they are ‘inside of Jumbo’ so they can’t do speed test as they don’t have a good connection in there!! Yea!!

Next destination was Nomad Shoprite… The dude their test it and his report was that yea the modem work! Yea the fucking modem fuckign works!! I know it! So I explained about the connection problem and also let him know about my blog and the posts!!! Finally we concluded that…. no conclusion! He is not a qualified dude to know the defect! The connection was slow too at Shoprite! So I asked him to confirm that a techky is going to come at my place on Monday!!

More specifically on Monday at 14:30!! Lets see at what time he will come and what will he do to solve the problem! I will surely update you all here. Today I did another speed test and here are the jokers results that I wanna share with you. These are the results for today Sunday 23 Nov. The results for friday were worst!!! 9Kbit/s!!!
