Google Chrome offline or standalone installer is more practical for many reasons. However Google Chrome normally comes in a web based installation package. This has some disadvantages but there is a simple way to download the Google Chrome browser set up file directly.
I often use PC at the University if I am stuck there or at relative’s place and if I need to use Chrome, then I have to download it first using the web based installer. The disadvantage is that I can only download and install on one PC. So if I need to install Google Chrome on another PC later, I will have to RE-download the installation. Quite annoying.
Furthermore if the connection speed is slow, Google Chrome which is about 9MB in size will take about 1 hour to download at some places here. So here is a practical way to get the set-up file of Google Chrome directly:
Go to: http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?standalone=1
This is the direct link which will enable you to download the full set up package of Google Chrome. You save the set up file and you can carry it anywhere you go. Simple but useful. By the way if you are still using Internet Explorer it is time you throw it away!
