You must have seen the Orange.mu Super Expo game/competition where you apparently win Rs 50 on your Orange mobile phone. It is all over Facebook Adverts and can be seen on the website of Orange.mu – Well, the game is quite an interesting one but is it a scam?
Update 13 July: Finally I got the message that I my credit has been adjusted with Rs50 – Uh..8 days late :/ – Well let’s confirm it then, it is not scam.
I am not saying that the game is a scam and fooling people but I am rather asking you about it. Let me explain why. Using this advert game is really an innovative concept to attract traffic to Orange.mu and also a very good way to further promote their Orange Expo video 2010.
As every Mauritian, I came across this game too while browsing Orange.mu – In fact you can check it here, BUT this game makes me wonder. When I came across this game, I tried playing it and well, I won on the first try itself! Well, getting Rs 50 for free on thee mobile phone credit is not bad…but I NEVER GOT IT.
Now I just want to clarify this that I am not begging for Orange.mu mere Rs50 gift but as any participant, when participating in a small game and you win it, you also expect to get the gift right? Else we’ll call it a scam. In fact when I registered for the game I got the following message by email:

And after winning the game, that is by finding the..uhh.. Super Mr Expo, I got the following email from Orange saying that my mobile credit will be adjusted:
[stextbox id="black" color="f91d05"]
Félicitations!

I played this game on Monday 5th July, and today it’s Thursday, and there is no sign of the “Gift” on my mobile phone. Today a friend was talking about it to me and he said he got another message when he tried to play the game and won it. His win message was as follows:
[stextbox id="black" color="f91d05"]

Now which is which? For one person the game said to come to fetch it at MT building at Port Louis (by the way it’s stupid, if someone live at Mahebourg will he go to Port Louis to fetch a Rs50 gift?). And for other people, the game said that the amount will be adjusted directly in the mobile phone credit WITHOUT specifying if it will take any amount of days or whatever. Funnily the game does not even has a terms and conditions.
By the way, the direct link to the game hosted page is: http://www.digital.mu/superexpo/ – You can alternatively try it there also. Now, I am not saying that the game is a scam to fool people to be more active on Orange website, but at least we citizens expect that the game is a transparent one and know about the gift delivery and so on.
I hope they didn’t boycott me just because they saw “Avish Kurt” lol. (Joking). Maybe it’ll be good if we have someone from Orange to clarify on this.
