Jaipur: Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will participate in the proposed anti-inflation rally here on Sunday, said Ajay Maken, party official in Rajasthan. He said the “national gathering” will also bring together chief ministers and former chief ministers from other states.

It will be known on Sunday whether Congress President Sonia Gandhi will also join the rally, Maken told reporters at a press conference.

Speaking to the media here, Congress Secretary General Randeep Singh Surjewala targeted the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its policies and decision which he said “led to an increase in inflation “in the country.

He alleged that every decision of the Modi government was anti-people. Economic activities derailed after the demonetization decision, Surjewala said.

“Every decision of the Modi government is anti-people. Small and medium-sized industries have collapsed. Neither naxalism, nor terrorism has ended, nor black money has been eliminated. The unemployment rate in the country is by 10 percent. Defeat Modi and the BJP to get rid of rising inflation, “Surjewala said.

Highlighting the rising prices of fuel and cooking oil, he said gasoline and diesel prices have exceeded Rs 100 per liter, cooking oil costs Rs 200 per liter, tomatoes cost 80 at Rs 100 per kg.

“Only 10 people in the country have 57 percent of the total money. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer,” Surjewala said.

Responding to a question that Congress is abusing the machinery of government, Surjewala said, “Modi ji goes to Uttar Pradesh and (Chief Minister Yogi) Adtiyanath ji holds a rally and gets resources organized by agents, but when Congress holds a rally at its own expense, the BJP raises allegations. ”

Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra has said the coronavirus protocol will be the Covid-19 protocol. He said chairs have been set up, masks will be provided, the temperature will be checked.
